Articles: Book Reviews: Jean Adrienne Saturday, November 1, 2003 back to the top The goal that many of us have been striving for many years to reach is ascension. We?ve been clearing our chakras, raising our consciousness, increasing our Light quotient and trying to rid ourselves of everything that holds us earthbound. What if we?ve been doing it all wrong? What if, once again, we?ve been looking for the answers outside ourselves? If we agree that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience, then why have we tried so hard to make that human experience ?wrong?? Perhaps we have always been supposed to live our spiritual life as a human experience. Perhaps, rather than striving to ?go up? we have always been supposed to find our ascension within. That certainly was the message of the Master Jesus when he said, ?The kingdom of God is within you.? By accepting the human side of our spiritual nature, we embrace the spiritual, because that's where it comes from in the first place. We are spiritual (actual true spirits in human form), and to more fully recognize our spiritual selves, we need to become more human; because we chose to be human to be able to experience our spiritual nature from another perspective by incarnating. So what does this all mean? For starters, we need to move our attention from our higher chakras to the root and sacral chakras. This is where we begin the process of manifesting form from idea. For the last twenty or so years, metaphysical theologians have told us that we need to move our energy from the ?lower? chakras up to the third eye and the crown. We were told to discard earthly attachments for spiritual awakening. I proposed that it?s time now for us to return to the basics. As our planet has raised her consciousness to the 5th dimension, we now have the ability to create heaven on earth, but if we are not clear in the 1st and 2nd chakras, we can?t bring that creation to this plane. Now is the time for us to ground our spiritual essence and do what we came here to do ? demonstrate our individual aspect of God / Goddess / All-That-Is. In order for ascension to take place with us in our human form, the body must be upgraded to hold a higher vibration. We must take on an ?overself? that is a Body of Light. This process can be begun with the activation of additional strands of DNA, the Spiritual DNA. There is a school of thought that originally we had more than just the two strands that we find in our bodies today. As additional strands come on line, we begin the process of awakening new abilities, gifts and powers that have been held dormant. If you unwind the double DNA helix, you see that it looks like a ladder. Our DNA could be the ladder into the 5th dimension! Another step is the activation of twenty amino acids in the brain, which wake up neural synapses that have been sleeping, and help us to ?remember? who we truly are. The left and right hemispheres of the brain must be fully integrated and balanced, so that communication between the hemispheres is done more easily. Both the pineal and pituitary glands must be attuned to assist them to act as receptors for receiving information telepathically. All of the answers ARE within each of us. Now is the time for us to take the spiritual lessons we?ve learned on our paths into the arena of everyday life. The past few years have taught many of us how to live in concert with the Universal Laws. We?ve become very aware of Cause and Effect and Manifestation because as the consciousness of our planet has grown, everything is happening much more quickly than ever before and we are able to see more clearly the ?fruits of our labors?. Every thing we think or do generates something in our physical world. There are NO idle thoughts or empty words anymore, because creation is instant in today?s world. As soon as we?ve thought about it, whatever it is we thought about is speeding towards us. More than ever before, we must consciously scrub what we are thinking and what we are saying! We are now ready to move these laws into the workplace. It?s time for the metaphysician in each of us to come out of the closet and show our peers though our actions how to create heaven on earth. We can effectively demonstrate to others that we can create the reality we desire with our thoughts, words and emotions, and this is SO much easier and more fun than living in victim consciousness. Although it was nice to have others to blame for the things that went wrong in our life, it?s much more satisfying to take responsibility and make things RIGHT! Ascension: The way of creating heaven on earth Julia Griffin with Jean Adrienne Monday, December 1, 2003 back to the top We always thought of ascension as leaving the earth to enter a different dimension or as means to enter ?heaven?. Jean Adrienne believes that we can create heaven on earth now by living and creating in the present moment through the sacred heart space. Julia: Let?s start with what is ascension? What does it mean and how can one attain it? Jean: The actual definition of the word, according to Webster?s dictionary, is moving from one level to another. The historical definition from a spiritual/religious standpoint has been that we die and go to heaven. Ascension is truly moving from one level of consciousness to another. If we agree that we have been living in third dimensional consciousness for number of years, then ascension could be moving to the fifth level or ninth level of consciousness. We?ve been given a preconceived notion that it is necessary to leave our bodies behind to travel to a better place. Ascension can take place on the physical plane while the consciousness is raised. We can choose to stay in the physical body and ascend. This is not to say that those around you who decide not to ascend will disappear. They will simply have a different experience. Those who want to ascend without a body can possibly have that experience. There will be two different realties. Maybe we?ll reach a point in the future when we co-exist, but don?t see each other or perhaps one plane will be invisible to the other. But it is an individual choice ? everyone will have to choose to do this because we live on the planet of free choice. This is a planet of choice. We chose to come here and experience life in a body because we could have experiences in a body that were not available without a body. Alchemy teaches that every soul in the Universe, no matter how advanced they are, envies us for having a body. There are things you can do in a body, such as having certain physical experiences that you cannot have without a body. Julia: If we are in the fifth dimension now or moving into the fifth dimension (wherever your consciousness is), what are some of the changes that will be taking place? Jean: The beginning of this move from one state of consciousness to another state of consciousness is to reclaim the aspects of the physical body that we surrendered in our quest for spirituality, as well as admitting to ourselves the importance of the body. We have tried to lighten our selves for some time. This has been the spiritual teaching ? to lighten up, to perhaps even leave the body by forsaking certain foods or habits. The truth is that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience. We need to claim this and fully activate and feel this physical experience. There is truly no other way to live in the present. If we can?t live in the present, then we can?t live in the heart space or become enlightened. If we are totally connected between the physical and spiritual, we can only experience living in the present. If this connection is complete, we can only experience harmony and growth. Julia: For those who are just discovering ascension in a body, who have not had intuitive awareness of it in the past, what advice can you give? Jean: It?s all about intention. The first thing that needs to happen is that one needs to decide to be open and receive this information. As soon as this happens, the rest is history, and it will happen. The more one walks in surrender, the more rapidly it will happen. Julia: What changes will occur in the DNA? Jean: In order for ascension to take place in the human form, the body must be upgraded to hold a higher vibration. This process can be begun with the activation of additional strands of DNA, the spiritual DNA. It is thought that we originally had more than the 2 strands of DNA that we find in our body today. As the additional strands are activated, we awaken new abilities, gifts, and powers that have been held dormant. If you unwind the double DNA helix, you can see that it looks like a ladder. Perhaps our DNA could be a ladder into the 5th dimension. There are people who perform DNA activation in which they activate the 12 strands of DNA. My feeling is that there are more strands of DNA ? which this process may have just begun. I suspect there are 36 strands of DNA. I suspect that the paradigm of the number of DNA changed when many of us realized that it was possible for us to ascend in the physical body. The DNA strands are the key to ascension. Certainly, everything that we are physically is encoded in the DNA. We have physical DNA in our cells, and spiritual DNA that is in our field. These two energies have to be connected, just as the left and right hemispheres of the brain must become integrated and balanced as we move into the 5th dimension. All of our inner knowledge is stored in the DNA. The memory of everything ?that is? is encoded in the DNA. When we become authentic, we no longer search for ?true knowledge?. It is within us. I suspect that this true knowledge is stored within the DNA, and, as we ascend, more strands of DNA will be activated and we will be able to access more of our inner hidden knowledge. Julia: You also believe that changes in the chakras are part of the ascension process? Jean: We need to move our attention from our higher chakras to the root and sacral chakras. This is the place that we begin manifesting form from idea. For years, we were told to focus on the third eye and crown chakras, but we have to focus 1st and 2nd chakras now to bring creation into form or to bring heaven to earth. . I?m seeing now that many people, even vegans, are being called to eat meat or root vegetables to ground themselves back in the body. As we move into this grounding, into the physical body, this activation of the DNA, there will be additional chakras. If there are 12 strands of DNA, it is only logical to assume that there are 12 chakras that relate to this. If there are 36 strands of DNA, then there may be 36 chakras. The first chakra that becomes apparent through the process of ascension is the high heart or thymus chakra. (Many people have experienced a feeling of having a heart attack as this chakra has opened.) I see it as lime green, although some people see it as aqua. There is also a new chakra right above the lip. It can be seen from the back of the head at the occiput. It?s called the ascension chakra. Other chakras may be near the spleen, and other chakras are in the field, but haven?t come in yet. The soul star is about 18 inches above the crown; another chakra is above that. We don?t know the location of all of the new chakras. This is exciting, and we?ll find out as we move through the ascension process. A whole new paradigm for the physical body is being created ? we are moving from a body that is controlled by the immune system to a body that is controlled or activated by the heart. We are reacting to emotions when we are in immune system, and we are connected to our inner knowing when we are in the high heart chakra. We thought before that we lived in a world that was run by forces that we considered external to ourselves, and the ascension movement is that of a world governed by the high heart. It is possible to create more perfect health through this synthesis of the body and soul. But it will also be possible to create anomalies of health, if this is what the person chooses to experience to learn. It is all about choosing our reality with each moment that passes. Julia: How does the crystal grid relate to ascension? Jean: None of this could take place until the crystal grid was established. Prior to this, we may have had to leave to ascend. I believe that there are higher grids above the crystal grid. As each of these things happens, it sets the energetic for more mirroring in the body. The axiatonal grid connects the body to the earth?s meridians, to the Crystal Grid, and to the Universal Grid above that. We are taking on a new vibratory level as we connect to the crystal grid. It?s similar to power stations as you come on line ? it?s like moving from dial up Internet, to cable, to DSL. We are using the vibratory frequencies at a different pace. The hertz vibration of the body is off the chart as compared to two or three years ago when the average human vibrated at somewhere around 68 hertz. It?s not unusual now for me to find someone who vibrates at 5 million hertz. There is a new paradigm that is open to a lot of conscious creation. It?s a paradigm that we can?t even perceive. This paradigm is so radically different from anything that?s been written about the human species or that we have experienced that we tend to fall in line with preconceived notions. It?s hard for us to get out of the box and release enough control to open our selves for the new paradigm. The Universal law of attraction dictates that your thoughts and vibrations essentially choose the systems and events operate around you. Another way of saying this is that your experience of the world is the outcome of your emotions and thought forms. Releasing control is going to be a big part of getting into the new picture. It all goes back to the universal laws. We can identify control any time things don?t seem easy, peaceful, and harmonious. As soon as your world starts to get testy, you can rest assured that you are exerting your will at some level. When you relinquish control, everything falls into place. It?s heaven on earth. The new paradigm is like a new channel on television. We lose our reception to the channel whenever we go into control. The only thing we can do is take a deep breath and surrender to your higher self and let go. These uncomfortable emotions are really a signal that we are not tapping into our intuitive knowledge. When the emotions occur, I tell myself that I having a mortal moment. And the only thing you can do in a mortal moment is nothing. Make no decisions because it can?t be for your highest and best good. And any choices you make at this moment can?t be for your best and highest good. Julia: If one decides to move into the process of ascension, are there important steps or consciousness changes to take? Jean: We also have to learn to let go of fear, examining our thoughts constantly. We can?t give up our responsibility for creating. There are no victims in the 5th dimension. Anything that is uncomfortable is our creation. We have to create something new and better in its place, but we can only do this by taking responsibility for our thoughts and emotions. We have to give up our base of third dimensional fear. We have to move away from judging anything as either bad or good. Whenever we have any kind of judgment, we are opening our selves to a lower vibration. It?s truly a matter of knowing that everything is, and everything is as it should be in this moment. We must learn to live moment-by-moment in the now. As you truly ascend, you remember who you really are. You remember that you are the Creator. At this point, it?s important to put your attention on creating ? creating your vision of heaven and earth. Begin to create what you want your reality to look like, as best you can within the old 3rd dimension paradigm. Then let go, and say ?My reality is this or something better.? You then turn this over to your Higher Self and allow your higher self to work with the vision. The truth is that we can create more wonder than we can possibly imagine. We are learning to become adept at this through the ascension process. We should create as much as we can, creating joy and happiness. Another thing is to remember is that when we can create happiness; we essentially have a full cup. When we have received a full cup, we must remember to give generously so that we can continue to receive generously. I believe that this is truly the movement to the place of Heaven on Earth, the place that scriptures refer to as the place where the Lion lays down with the Lamb. Contracts - Aquarius- March 2005 Jean Adrienne Tuesday, March 8, 2005 back to the top CONTRACTS- Understanding Why Stuff ?Happens? By Jean Adrienne We live in a world of choices. In fact, this life is all about the choices we make. So why does so much appear to ?happen? to us that would seem to be out of our control? How do we get so caught up in the illusion of victim mentality? The reason is that we don?t understand fully the concept of contracts. Contracts are those agreements that we made with other souls prior to incarnating, agreements to assist each other in personal, spiritual and emotional growth while on the ?Planet of Free Will?. Without this understanding, it?s easy to fall into the trap of not taking responsibility for what we have created (everything in our reality) and blaming others for causing the chaos in our lives. There are several categories of contracts. First are the Soul Contracts. These are the agreements to assist each other in mastering our primary life lessons. It must take a great deal of love for an individual soul to agree to do things like abandoning us so that we can learn to heal from the fear of separation. Or how about refusing to love us for who we are so that we remember who that is and stand in our own power. Why this becomes so confusing for us mortals is that Soul Contracts are choices that we made before we came into these bodies, and the memories of them are hidden while we are here. Once we fulfill our contract, everything else in a relationship is up to our conscious choice. We are free to operate in relationship with that soul to the extent we choose, or move on. If we look at a soul contract to teach another about love, for example, that may have meant that we were supposed to be in relationship with that person only long enough for them to ?get? the lesson of unconditional love. Too often, however, that lesson leads to marriage and staying in a relationship past the time the lesson was learned because of a social code which dictates that to be the acceptable thing to do. Recently, a client came to me whose mother had abandoned her at the hospital at birth. She had spent her entire life hating her, because she didn?t understand that the contract between the two of them was to bring her soul in ? NOTHING MORE! Once she was able to see this, she was able to forgive her birth mother for the first time, and subsequently she was able to get on with her life. Another category of contract is the Alternate Plan. Suppose that you chose Mary to be your mother so that you could learn the life lesson of Trust, and you chose Sam to be your father so that you could learn to master communication. What if Sam was killed in a war before the two of them could meet. You would have to find another biological father with the same issues around communication or forgo the incarnation. There are a lot of ?Plan B? contracts in our lives due to situations just like this. A third type of contract is the Serendipity contract. These are additional lessons we want to master in an incarnation. They are like elective courses we can take while we are here, and we enlist loving souls to engage with us if we happen to ?bump? onto them along the way. An example of this is that I might have contracted with Janet to teach me emotional communication if I happened to run into her. Then when my marriage failed, I could be led to her to be my therapist. If I never encountered her, I might find another soul buddy to help me with the same lesson, or I might skip that lesson totally because the ?set ups? that would have precipitated the need for it never occurred. There are no accidents. Everything does indeed happen for a reason, just not necessarily for the one we might have thought. Once the concept of contracts is understood, it then becomes easy to break free from the illusion of victim mentality. There are no victims. We alternate roles in this game all the time. One minute we are feeling persecuted and look around for a rescuer. Next we are abusing our power with another who then thinks we are victimizing them. It?s a vicious circle that takes us out of living in the present moment and into a cycle of fear and control. From this space, it is impossible to create the reality we desire, because we are not operating from our place of personal power ? we?ve given our power away to someone or something outside of ourselves. The solution then is to surrender to our higher self in gratitude and bless the person who lovingly contracted with us to assist us to heal a part of our self. Then and only then can we live in the reality we desire and deserve! Parenting The Crystal Child - Printed in Aquarius Jean Adrienne back to the top The children that are being born now are radically different from those of us born as the parents of their parents, but the same rules that applied to child-rearing twenty years ago still apply today. Actually, they are more important today than ever before, because this new ?breed? of child, the crystal child, implies and requires additional care on the part of the parent. These new children have very special gifts. They use their minds to do so much more than we ever considered: moving objects, reading the minds of others, even seeing things that are invisible to their parents and grandparents?angels, perhaps? They have the ability to magnify any energy they feel. What is foreign to them is fear. They are beings of pure love. Any child, and correspondingly all of our ?inner children,? believes that everything received by his or her senses is the truth. This continues up until about age five. This has always been true, but it makes it so much more important for the parents of the crystal child to be judicious in guarding what their children are allowed to receive, because not only do these kids receive with the five traditional senses, but they receive telepathically as well. Every child comes into this world as a clean slate and begins to develop his or her idea of what this world is based on sensation. Out of parental fear that harm might come to the child, we begin to limit those sensations early on with ?no?. It?s one of the first words this child learns! And, it begins the process of teaching that it?s ?not okay? for the child to just be. With these new kids, we don?t even have to say the word to instill it! Here?s an example: the toddler runs up to her daddy when he comes home from work and joyfully begins showing him toys, chattering in baby talk. He?s had a rough day at the office and is exhausted, pushes her away and yells at his wife, ?Will you please come take this child so I can have some peace and quiet?? The child senses rejection and does not feel loved. The lesson might be, ?it?s not ok to share and talk with my daddy.? Of course, this is not what he had in mind, and probably never even occurred to him, but it?s a lesson nonetheless. Much of the trauma I find in my InnerSpeak therapy work stems from seemingly insignificant instances such as this! Since fear is not part of the make-up of the crystal child, when they encounter it, they magnify it and send it back in the direction it came from. This will propose an interesting phenomenon for their parents! If we look at fear as any emotion that is not love, dealing with an upset child, that then increases the upset of the parent will make calming and correcting the situation much more difficult. Finding behavior modification tools for the crystals will be a bit challenging, because the old methods just won?t work. If the child is able to ?plug? the parent into their energy, or vice versa, negativity will increase. The only tools that will prove successful will be those based on love and positive feedback. Whatever the situation that arises will need to be handled in a manner that leads to a ?yes? rather than a ?no?. Some of the crystals will be late talkers. It is being shown that they are being misdiagnosed as autistic or having other similar problems. They, however, can communicate telepathically, so the need to talk is not so strong as it has been for children in the past. We must resist the temptation to label or medicate them, and let them develop at their own pace. The crystal children are extremely inquisitive. Feed that enthusiasm with more questions for them, rather than limiting their field. These children will KNOW what is true and what is not. Bribing and lying to them will not work, because they will instinctively know what is in your mind. We are moving into a time where there can be no more lies. These kids are coming in now to take us to a more loving world. Who could ask for a better plan? It is the duty of each parent, then, to support the child with creative and loving environments for their individual development. Sacred Geometry and the Mayan Calendar - Aquarius, August 2004 Jean Adrienne back to the top The Sacred Spiritual Calendar of the Maya is known as the Tzolkin. It is a part of one of the four ancient Mayan codices that survived the Spanish conquest of Central America. The Conquistadors destroyed most of the culture of the lands they conquered, but these four books were returned to Spain by boat when all the other sacred Mayan writings were burned. The Tzolkin describes the prophecy of time, the cosmic plan and the evolution of human consciousness from the scientific perspective of an ancient civilization that observed the cosmos for centuries. For those today that desire to study its deeper meanings, it can allow a new understanding of what it means to be a human being, and it can assist us in knowing our purpose and direction for our lives. The ancient Mayan calendar was the cosmology through which these people understood their reality, and that they were living in a universe of holy time, under the existence of a God and a divine plan of creation. The ancient Maya were able to see special rhythmic pulses of light and dark, which they calibrated into seven lights and six darks, or thirteen cycles of divine creation. They called these Gods or Sacred Energies (Uinals) ? Procreation, Wind, Sunrise, Dance, Water, Moon, Rain, Intoxication, Fire, Death, Flowers Medicine and Highest Manifestation. To the Maya, this meant that all cycles of physical and spiritual time in the universe were interconnected. Today, these sequences of waves and frequencies are known as biorhythms, but the Maya were aware of them 3000 years ago. They codified the changing energies generated by the binary sequences of light and dark into a spiritual tool providing insight into that purely spiritual nature that influences and shapes human consciousness. They found that Spirit is more important than matter and that consciousness ultimately shapes the physical. There are twenty days in a month on this calendar, with each day (Nahual) equated to a natural phenomenon or totem animal. Thirteen (the Sacred Energies) times twenty (days) equals 260 sacred days in the Mayan year (also nine Gregorian months or the gestation time of a baby.) The calendar relates to the human body as well. There are thirteen major joints and twenty digits. There are also twenty amino acids in the body. The Mayan people built unique four-sided pyramids throughout their lands. These pyramids reflected both sacred geometry and their calendar. The four sides represented the seasons. On each side of the pyramid are ninety one steps. This number represents the addition of one plus two plus three, etc?through thirteen. Multiply ninety one by four (for the four sides) and you get three hundred sixty four. At the top of each pyramid is a final step, making three hundred sixty five, or the number of days in another Mayan calendar, the Habb, which was the agricultural calendar that they used. This one equates to our Gregorian calendar, and is based on the movement of the earth around the sun. The Tzolkin calendar, which carries the feminine energy, moves twenty times faster than the Habb/Gregorian, sun-based calendars, which carry the masculine energy. Again looking at the pyramids, the angle of the ascent increases by a factor of twenty, and relates to a cycle of time. The closer to the top of the pyramid, the faster the cycles of time appear, moving to zero point at the top. The third calendar they used was the Tun. It consisted of 360 days and five unlucky Uayeb days. This calendar has eighteen months, each with its own glyph or Tun sign. These three calendars are interconnected and work together. It takes fifty two years to complete a full cycle of the three interconnected calendars. The Maya believed that when you attained fifty two years of age, you had achieved all of life?s goodness and difficulties and you became an elder of the community. The thirteen creative energies repeat over and over. Every person is born with one of these creative energies as their primary purpose. These unique energies describe a person?s distinctive traits and talents, not unlike the astrological signs we are more familiar with. The Venus transit of this summer is very important in relation to the Mayan calendar. Venus equates to Kulkulcan, or the Christ energy, the Son. The Father energy is represented by the Sun, so with this transit the Son (Hijo) passed in front of the Father (Padre) signaling the beginning of a spiritual explosion which will become manifest in 2005. Those that study this calendar believe that this ?new? spiritual reality will be that of a more personal religion, as the individual begins to awaken to his/her own Divinity and finds the Christ within. There are those that speculate that this is the sound of the trumpet, heralding the end of time as we know it. Certainly the Mayan calendar ends in the year 2012, but my belief is that this does not mean the end of life on this planet. I see this time as the beginning to our opening to Choice. We now can choose to raise our vibration to match that of our beloved planet and awaken to our power as creator. OR NOT- it?s up to each of us! Book Review by Gina Scott of Jean Adrienne?s Soul Adventures Tuesday, June 10, 2003 back to the top Since being a metaphysical believer since the late 80?s, I have read many holistic books, attended workshops and heard lectures. In today?s marketplace, I mostly find metaphysical materials that contain extensive esoteric beliefs, philosophical ideas, exercises and affirmations. The preponderance of these types of materials suggests to me that the process of evolving for many is being explained as a laborious sport of sweat and tears - a heavy mental sport where one needs to figure out and then re-figure out one?s life lessons. Soul Adventures is different. It is a pleasurable read with profound effects. For me, Jean?s writing reignites the idea that the process of evolving is an experiential journey, not a heavy rational one. Her story invokes feeling, awe and the utter admiration of how our surroundings perfectly teach us and simply evolve us if we just remain reflective. Her story is easily relatable, her words refreshingly honest and her experiences insightful. In reading her story, revelations and breakthroughs about my own life spontaneously surfaced. At various points, my mind would instantly transport to windows of time in my own past where lessons were trying to reveal themselves. Now, my surroundings and my past make better sense to me after reading and relating to Jean?s journey. This time, many more of my life lessons registered! What I love most is that her book shares and grants wisdom effortlessly. And even though she admits her life lessons were hard at times, her recount does not read like a boring history book, but instead reads like a grace-filled account of her upward soul?full? movement. Congratulations, Jean! Thank you for having the courage to share your journey, for in so doing, you have helped me clarify mine! Mirroring Healing: Jean Adrienne Bevil Sheri Divers back to the top As I read Jean Adrienne Bevil?s Soul Adventures I was struck by how we all have the same story. Now, intellectually, I was already aware of this great truth before I began reading this book. But, I find, I am one of those people who occasionally benefits greatly from direct experiences that illustrate an immediate lesson or serves as an acknowledgment. Soul Adventures radiates ALL ARE ONE. And so the central questions are: Why is Soul Adventures so effective? How and why does it move me? I came to the reading of this spiritual journey text as a 36 year old African American female who left a university teaching career to start my own spiritual healing business. Well, that?s not exactly true ? the Universe forced me out of my career teaching literature by helping me realize that I was miserable and in the job to please others, enjoy security and an impressive job title. Like Jean Adrienne who was laid off from her $150,000 corporate position, I am surrounded by family members who say, "When are you going to get a real job with benefits?" or "Why don?t you just go back to teaching?" Soul Adventures is written in a very engaging style. My heart was receptive to it because Jean Adrienne writes my fear-based truth from the beginning. Now I will admit that I was worried and felt something recoil within me when Jean Adrienne cites complex material like sacred geometry. I had issues with geometry and algebra in high school, but developed a grudging respect for its basis in sheer logic as I studied for the GRE to gain admission to grad school years later. My initial discomfort didn?t get any better when she began using the term "InnerSpeak" to refer to the healing modality that she developed. Indeed, a part of my mind began curling up defensively as a kind of trained response to a whole style of writing New Age/ Spiritual reading material available now. However, Jean seems to have anticipated this prejudice and utilizes language that makes her technical material highly readable and easily accessible. One primary tenet in Soul Adventures is that everything comes from Love or Fear. The author discusses at length the power of love and fear based thinking by examining the impact it has on clients and her own life. I love how she bravely strips open her own life and bares her own strengths and challenges. She mirrors the truth that blessings and abundance come from a place of honesty and a continued commitment to one?s own spiritual healing. The issue of personal power is central to the InnerSpeak process. For it is not a healing modality where the client sits passively and looks to the therapist to supply the sum of all knowledge and healing, as is too often the case in the alternative healing field. Instead, the client is required to assume responsibility for their own healing, go within for answers and perform self-healing rituals. Jean Adrienne merely assists in a gentle fashion from the sidelines. I was fascinated by the chapter on the generational Lightbearers within all families. Jean shares how she discovers that she can and does heal past personal and ancestral trauma pre-dating the birth of Jesus. Yet, I did wonder what the generational lightbearers within her family were doing all this time? If a lightbearer can heal the trauma for ancestors and descendents, why does so much entrenched familial trauma remain? The way Jean writes about it ? very little has been done in the way of healing through the ages by the generational lightbearers. Most of the trauma appears to have been left to congeal into problematic long-term issue-oriented figurations. Although I have an idea about why this is so, I would have welcomed Jean?s take on the subject. There is also a discussion of spirit attachments. More specifically, ancestors often linger after crossing over and attach themselves to their descendant?s body, causing the living individual great difficulty. I wondered how could the ancestors not realize that they are dead? As they see their contemporaries die out and new generations being born ? shouldn?t this signal a considerable passage of time and the improbability of being alive as we know it? I wonder how Jean would speak to this question. One thing I particularly appreciated, though, is how Jean shares the exploration of her own past lives. Many times such information is shared out of a desire for spiritual competition. Instead, Jean provides context as she relays the basic details of a few of her past lives by connecting its importance to her present life and its lesson. In Soul Adventures Jean Adrienne Bevil emerges as an Earth Goddess. In her healing journey she mirrors All ? connecting people and acknowledging faith, sexuality, abundance, creativity and love.
